Valentine Wknd Beach Trip
Over Valentine Wknd, Nick, Lilah, and I journeyed to Manzanita, where we stayed in one of our favorite hotels there. (It's like renting a small apartment for the weekend, and they are VERY dog-friendly) We had a great time, and were joined by our new friends Chris and Tiffanie on Saturday. We got to get in great "adult time" after the kiddies went to bed! I met Tiffanie at a playgroup, and their daughter Addie is just five months younger than L. They are pretty cute together! Best of all, our families live close to each other and Nick and I are looking forward to a new long-term friendship!
On the downside, we did get caught in the heavy rainstorm forming in this picture. (below)Honestly, how did we never notice those dark clouds?!?!

Princess Li-li!
Lilah loves protein shakes!
The other morning, Lilah was very fussy about her breakfast food and would hardly eat any thing. After struggling to get her to eat, I finally let her out of her chair and made myself breakfast -- a healthy homemade strawberry protein shake.
Next thing I knew, Lilah was back at her chair making her cluck-cluck-clucking sounds that means she's hungry.
Excited by the possibility of getting something into her tummy, I gave her a cup filled to the brim and saw this:
A quiet, intensely-focused Lilah who finished the whole thing from start to finish without taking a break.
When she came up for air she had strawberry shake everywhere and was mad I was bothering taking her picture when she wanted more shake!
In fact, it was out of this incident she added another word to her vocabulary. She now says "more" although it sounds like "moorhh"! :)

Home Sweet Home
I talked with my new boss this past week and learned which cabin Nick and I will be moving into at my new job. I had taken pictures the last time I was at camp, and can now share with you!
This will be the view from our front porch this summer, courtesy of the camp's website:
Our cabin is the on the left!
Nick and I plan on moving towards the end of March and will get more pictures up of our new digs as soon as we can!

Secret Mommy Confession
This song makes me cry: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=at_lUnFjXg8 As in, pull-off-to-the-side-of-the-road-'cause-you-can't-see-the-road-from-your-tears cry. This is also why I don't like country music so much -- I can be totally happy, and then a song comes on the radio and next thing you know I'm crying. Maybe I'm just a nerd, but anyone else out there have songs that make them cry?

Impromptu Beach Trip
Nick and I now have a list of things to do before we move to Sisters. One item I put on the list was "Go to Beach", and since we've been having beautiful spring-like days here in the Northwest, I randomly called a friend and asked if she'd want to go to the beach for the day. I think she was saying "yes" before I was even finished asking, and her enthusiasm confirmed us going. So we turned the Suburban into a "Mommy Mobile" and headed to the beach!
